If you like taking bong hits, this is the record for you
Pelcian: Australasia
this sort of sounds like if Isis and Engine Kid got together but didnt have any microphones, and realized they didnt write good lyrics anyway, so they just turned their guitars all the way up. this is the kind of music that scares 6th graders because they dont understand it. it's just big and mid tempo and loud. its got that "BWAAAAAAHHHH BWAAAAAAHHHHHH duggada duggada duggada" thing going on.
these are all really bad descriptions. its stoner rock. not the kind of stoner rock i usually like, but its good all the same. i'll call it stoner metal, because i consider stoner rock to be a little more southern or sound more like steve miller band or pink floyd or creedence or something.
I also downloaded this record the other day:
this is one of the records i had when i was in like 7th grade that my parents luckily never knew i had. it's one of the greatest records ever made and by owning it i was automatically cooler than most of the people i went to jr high with. i think i might have even had it in like 6th grade on some tape some guy in my neighborhood made. i dont know. "all right stop what you're doin' 'cause i'm about to ruin the image and the style that you're used to ..." rad.
oh yeah, i downloaded this too:
hip hop really turned a corner in the early 90's, some of the best hip hop records ever made came out between 1990 and 1994 ... i have no idea how i, as a dumb 12 year old kid, was hip enough to be somewhat aware of it.
other integral hip hop records to come out in that period of time that i am amazed i had,
Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers),
The Chronic,
illmatic,
Doggy Style,
Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik,
tical,
2pacalypsenow,
Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z.,
the ghetto's tryin to kill me,
It takes a nation of millions to hold us back (1988, but whatever),
AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted,
kill at will,
lethal injection,
Death Certificate,
Till death do us part,
we come strapped,
187 he wrote,
93 til infinity,
the low end theory,
music to drive by,
19 Naughty III,
black sunday,
Rigormortiz (<-- coolio stole gangsters paradise from this guy) ... yeah, i'll stop now. i actually owned every one of these records at one point. damn. it sucks that there's a ton of stuff i've forgotten about since then.
