is there a government on earth, in any country, that exists to protect it's citizens and leaves their livelihood and happiness in their own hands? this is the question that i'd like to know the answer to. if anyone can help out with the answer, i'd love to hear it. if there is a website that shows the limit of governmental control on the populace, the extent of personal rights of citizens, or just compares and contrasts different set-ups in different places, i'd love to check it out.

i have had it with the united states, but it seems, for lack of a better analogy, like john kerry in this election. it fucking blows, but the general rule of thumb is that it's better than anywhere else. better by who's standards, though? better because everywhere else is subjected to our overbearing presence, or better because i am allowed to write this? am i even allowed to write this anymore, or are there programs combing the internet for talk of dissent and possible terrorist threats?

any advice? post a comment.

-thanks
