With friends like these ...
I'm less than stoked on a lot of people right now. Bastards. It really doesn't matter though because as time goes by it looks more and more like I wont even be on this side of the continent for more than a couple months. Or maybe I'll be out on the street ... Who knows.
I've been reading a lot of Hunter Thompson recently. I finished "Kingdom of Fear" a while back and promptly started in on "Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72." HST is a really great writer when you're a guy like me. He doesn't really seem to try to follow any sort of literary rules and he just kind of lets things fall as they may. I like that. Entire novels written with a super loose framework and mostly just stream-of-conciousness are right up my alley. Books for people with short attention spans. I still wont finish one of his books if it's longer than 400 pages though. If you can't get a point across in 400 pages, maybe it's time you became a lawyer. Windbag.
I really need to get back to writing Omerta songs. I've got about 3 new ones finished, but I've only got 2 committed to tape in any meaningful way and I've got at least 3 more ready to come out ... I wonder when Ben actually gets back from tour.
Today was beer Friday at work. Getting drunk at work rules. It sure makes the day a hell of a lot more tolerable. You should get drunk at work the next chance you get. It's worth it.
I have nothing important to write.
Riding the bus is the way to go. You see lots of funny stuff when you ride the bus. It's far more entertaining than driving. Plus when you have to ride through the University District every day, you get a chance to stare at hot girls the whole way home. That's fun. But talking to them sucks because they're all vapid idiots with nothing worth while to say, even if their lives depended on it. Most of them will get on their backs for you though, as long as you have beer and a backwards white hat. I'm so glad I didn't go to real college. At the same time, I'm kind of bummed I didn't go to business school too. If there's one thing I've learned about the working world, it's that 80% of the people out there are completely incompetant and you can succeed in life by just bullshitting all those people. It's a good plan.
Guns N Roses rules.
