I GOT MY LAPTOP BACK!
So after a little glitch involving the
bagel virus, i've got my newly reformatted laptop back. in fact, i'm posting this blog from it right now. I also just discovered how rad it is to have a computer with an infra-red port when you have a phone that has one too. so in celebration of my computer/phone love making abilities, i bring you the following photo-essay which i like to call ...
A camera phone tour of the new Seattle library
for some reason the people who designed this new library thought it would be a good idea to make EVERY surface super shiny, which leads one to wonder, "how much windex must they go through?" no ... seriously?
I thought these things looked weird, and this picture is even weirder with no explanation. you're not going to get one.
I guess that's what they're for. why they're necessary in a library ... i dont know. interesting seating surfaces are important i guess.
They spent a lot of money on lighting. bada bing.
I dont know what this is.
This is what most people have already seen of this place ... the only good part ... the outside.
ok ... so in all honesty i didnt actually look around the whole library. that place is crazy. 1) It's confusing as hell. there are no signs anywhere and the whole place is bizarre. all the floors seem to be on a slant and the stairs and escalators are all weird. it's very "IKEA" in there ... if that description makes sense to anyone else. it's not going to age well. The place has only been open for about a week and it already looks pretty trashy inside. the insides of the elevators are this bright yellow color that probably seemed like a good idea at first, but when put to use it shows every scuff and dirt mark ever. that's kind of how everything there is. oh well. i'll go back in a year and see whether my initial mockery is justified or not.
Here are some random pictures that were also on my phone
I'm developing a kind of camera phone art. I call this piece, "butter my muffin" .... hahahaha ... i kill me.
This image is entitled, "Going to meet Dr. Labcoat." yeah. in the house.
And finally
A picture that serves two purposes at once. 1) A testament to my excitement about my phone and laptop both having infra-red and 2) A shout out to Lauren Kaperick.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH TURKEY!
