Mondays aren't fun.
Over the weekend I watched this program on PBS called "
Alone in the Wilderness." Amazing. It's basically a documentary about this guy who left the Navy after severely damaging his eyesight to go live in the back woods in Alaska. He just took a wind up camera, a tripod, a bunch of tools and a journal. Then he meticulously documented each day he was there. He builds a log cabin, furniture, an outhouse, a food storage locker ... And everything in between. He even makes wooden hinges for the door. Once he was up there, he spent a grand total of 40 bucks on his whole cabin. All the wood he used came from timber he chopped down from around the area. He even collected a whole bunch of stones from the lake to build himself a fireplace and chimney. That is seriously one of the craziest things I've ever seen. This guy lived up there with no power and no running water for 35 years. He came back to civilization when he was 85 or 86. Crazy crazy.
