Observations
I heard two things during the RNC tonight, that I've heard many times from both parties, that I've always thought were pretty stupid.

Variatons on these two sentances, spoken by the same person:
1) "We want to spread democracy around the world."
2) "We shouldn't let the UN tell us what to do."

Now ... doesn't it seem a little hypocritical to promote democracy around the world and then turn around and directly oppose the only world democracy that now exists? I mean, I know the UN has it's problems, but why not try to fix them and actually promote democracy instead of throwing the baby out with the bathwater?

I guess globalism and democracy are mutually exclusive.

"Why should Washington let the United States tell us what to do?"

... yeah. Stupid huh? We all share the same planet. Let's start acting like it.

It's actually "official" U.S. policy to pursue that very concept.
