Sometimes I forget how good Waxwing is/was. Damn Seattle is a great town.

I've only been to 2 shows since I've been here and there were Seattle peeps reppin it at both of them.

The first show was 3 Inches of Blood. We had to trek way the hell out to Long Island for it, which was nothing less than a small adventure in and of itself. Brian Redman is awesome and in 3IOB now. It was weird to see him at that show ... that show was just weird. 3IOB is really good now. Like ... amazingly good. They were fun and great before, but now they are freaking stellar. Mtv ... prepare.

The second show was last night at some bar in Soho. We went to see Walter Shriefels (Gorilla Biscuits/Quicksand/Rival Schools/etc) play solo acoustic stuff. He opened with Start Today. It was pretty awesome. It would have been awesome even if he didn't play that because he was wasted drunk and stopped before finishing 3 of the first 6 songs. We ran into our homies Chris Cab and Punk Rock John's ex-roomy Jesse. There must be some kind of weird Seattle takeover of New York happening. The more time I spend here, the more people I knew back home come out of the woodwork.

I made a pact with myself to learn how to sing and to do solo acoustic stuff, just so I could cover the Dead Kennedys Too Drunk To Fuck. Some things were never meant to be played in an acoustic setting ... Those things are usually hilarious when they are. After that I'll record a lounge version of Holiday in Cambodia. Sweet.

Speaking of silly lounge covers, here's a perfect opportunity to link to the Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine website. May the force be with you.

Here's another excerpt from my forthcoming book The Young Man's Guide to Successful Living.
Mashed Potatos are the greatest food ever invented. This is why brushing your teeth is optional.
Yep.

I've managed to get sick. It's not like a kind of sick I've ever been before. It's unexplainable. It sucks.

I was talking to a friend of mine about New York the other day. He was just here a few weeks ago, staying with a friend of his in the seedier part of Brooklyn, and he summed up living in New York like this: Living in New York is like being in a relationship with a girl where half the time you have the most amazing sex imaginable, but the rest of the time she curses and throws plates at you. That is basically the best assessment I've heard yet. I guess you just have to keep New York's pants off. I can't really say I like this place. It's big, it's dirty, people are EVERYWHERE ... ALL the time, and 90% of them are the most dick headed cocksuckers you'll ever meet. If you live in New York and reading this offends you, good. Maybe you should learn some fucking manners.

My name is Jonas.

I was riding the train home from that show last night and there was some bald guy who kept doing these weird yelling excercises(?) every time the train would pull into, or out of, a stop. aaaayyyyAAAAHHHHaaaayyyyAAAAHHHH (repeat). I yelled across the train, "YOU ARE IN PUBLIC!" he didn't stop. Then Kc yelled the same thing. There was this black woman sitting across from us who looked like she was about to go buckwild on this dude. He didnt even look all that strange. Had he not been yelling and doing weird Tai Chi/Jazz-hand moves I never would have pegged him as a freak. He kept putting his hands up in front of his face, as if to say, "I caught a fish THIS big," except he'd close his eyes and freeze like that for like 3 minutes, then go back to wildly chopping the air and doing the universal penis-going-into-vagina finger movement. It was bizarre. I really wanted to jab him in the back of his head with the tip of my umbrella.

Incase you haven't noticed, I hate people. I'm changing my middle name to Misanthrope.

Damn ... Weezer is great.

Ok ... enough dicking around. This thing has turned into a book.
