Favorite Stupid Records
Everyone likes stuff that is dumb for one reason or another. It's true. So recently I was in Best Buy, you know, the greatest record store in the whole world (not), and I came upon 3 cds that I had to buy. They are amazingly dumb, but necessary. Here I present them to you, along with reasons they're stupid and excuses for why it doesn't matter:

Tenacious D
(Damn straight these images are leeched!)
Back in the day when Kage and Jables were little known celebrities confined to bit parts in movies like biodome and supporting roles on cable comedy shows, they formed a band. It started out as a series of sketches on Mr Show that created some buzz and created something of a following. It was nice, but cut to today: The joke has worn off, you've seen the whole act before, two 30 something fat dudes in their underwear just isn't all that funny anymore ... But Dave Grohl can still rock like a machine built solely for the purpose of rocking, and Kyle is still a rad guitar player. so there you go. vindicated.

Rancid: Rancid & Let's Go

Now let's just get something out of the way. These records are stupid. Rancid was formed after Operation Ivy broke up. That was 1991. Tim Armstrong and, uh, that bass player guy, both came out of playing in one of the most well known and most popular punk rock bands around. So they form a band called Rancid and sing about things like nihilism and dating dope sick girls. Yeah right, whatever dude. Sean McCabe actually did that and he's dead. That's what happens when you ACTUALLY do that stuff. You don't normally get on warped tour and end up writing songs for hollywood popstars. But still, these songs are super catchy and that bass player guy is good as hell. It's just too bad they let that Lars idiot ruin their band. Guys named Lars ruin everything.

ROCK HARD, TASTY ABS, WASHER-BOARD STYLE!!!
