U.S. Oil Strikes New Record Above $44. Gas across the street from my house is STILL $1.99 ... I don't get how 3 months ago gas prices were going apeshit, but now the price of a barrel of oil goes up and it has no effect on pump prices. Am I missing something? WTF?

There's a great article in The Nation. Read it. It basically says "John Kerry sucks as bad as George Bush as far as policy goes, but at least he's boring enough that we'll be able to concentrate on that instead of the fact that he's a stupid, religious bastard."
