So, I broke down and bought a reciver yesterday. It's on its way to my house as I type this. I guess I didn't really "break down" since I've been in desperate need of a new reciever for about 30 years, but yeah. It cost me a little more than I wanted to spend, but I ended up getting a sweet deal on a really kick ass reciever. It was marked down 40% because it's last years model, it's now discontinued and there is an only-slightly-better
new model out that costs 3 times as much. WICKED! Checkit:
Harmon Kardon AVR 635
I'm so stoked. I have now officially spent my as-yet-to-be-recieved bonus at least 4 times. Whatever. Now I need some killer speakers.
Eventually I'm going to buy an HDTV also and have the most amazing home theater system ever devised. Ok ... not
ever. I'm sure Bill Gates has me beat there. What I'll actually be doing is wasting, on myself, all the money I would be spending on the children I'm never going to have. Kids ruin everything. I'd rather vacation in Greece.

This whole moving thing is really starting to become a reality. I got a call from the moving company the other day and they took all of my information and initiated the process of my move. Scary. It wasn't until 5 minutes after I hung up the phone with the lady at the moving company that I realized I
really don't want to move across the country. It's not so much that I don't want to live in New York. Or that I want to stay in Seattle. No. New York will no doubt be cool and Seattle, well, I've lived here forever and I hate it as much as I love it. Moving is just a pain in the ass and I'm definitely a West Coast person. Somehow, moving to New York seems like an unexciting move, whereas, if it was L.A. I'd have no problem. Maybe it's just that I like summer time. I dont know. I hate LA. LA sucks. I'd never move there by choice, but somehow if my job forced me to go, I wouldn't have any problem doing so. New York is different. Perhaps it's just my aversion to big dirty cities where people are constantly rushing around and crammed into every nook and cranny in every place you look. Or maybe I just think New York has no decent football teams and no baseball teams you'd ever want to admit to anyone that you're rooting for. I even hate the Knicks. I guess I'll just root for Pittsburg now. Now Pittsburg has some sports teams worth rooting for. Always good, but not always winning. It sort of has that "Not a city you'd ever want to live in" mystique. New York used to have that until a bunch of dumb politicians came along and sissied it up. Maybe I'll finally get my chance to punch Carson Daly in the face though ... here's hoping.
I've been looking into neighborhoods and I think I'm going to move to Fort Green just because Old Dirty Bastard was born and raised there. What a reason to move someplace! Right now I live in the same neighborhood as Dave Matthews. Dave Matthews is a cancer on the ass of the world. Someone please beat him mercilessly. What a douche. Wallingford is alright though. I live in the best location I've ever lived in. The only problem is that my apartment itself sucks ass. Oh well.
