romance isn't depression. it isn't suffering, despair, or a growing sense of apathy toward everything else in your life, save the object of your affection. it isn't lying awake at night crying, listening to bright eyes and focusing on all of the lyrics from songs that have to do with relationships. it isn't a grasping effort to retain a piece of someone else to make your own life seem less miserable.
too many kids are parading their sadness and grief as an underlying romantic side that the opposite sex just can't appreciate. as bon jovi would say, these kids gave love a bad name.
romance is the things you can't hide in yourself. it's when joy springs up from somewhere in your body and fills you to the point where you can't hold it in any longer. it comes out in adoration, caring, and can be as quick and sudden as a loving glance or a quiet exaltation in surprising circumstances. it isn't born out of a manipulative nature that seeks to curry attention from another. it isn't selfish, but selfless. it lacks the social graces and airs that one puts on for the sake of others. it should be a true expression of your inner nature and as such, will come across with honesty and clarity.
sometimes i need an outlet for feeling in my life. time to deaden my soul with more calculus.
