A point worth repeating
I hate George W. Bush. Let's just make that clear from the start. I think just about every single thing he's done in office is reprehensible. From ruining the environment, to deregulation of energy and media, to the retarded religious crap he's constantly pushing, to a million other things. The thing I hate most, though, is how he is an unbelievably arrogant liar and how no one calls him on it. Well ... not enough people anyway. My favorite thing Bush does is this: Whenever someone says "America could do better" or "We're not fighting the war on terrorism effectively" or anything like that, he and his people come back with, "America is safer because of what we've done," "We're smokin' em out," "The terrorists are on the run." Then he'll turn right around during some campaign speech and tell everybody, "America is in danger!" So which is it there Texas? Are we safe or are we in danger? Or perhaps it's neither. Perhaps you'd just like people to think you're ALWAYS right. Perhaps you know that people are easier to control and manipulate if they're scared. "Don't worry honey, President Bush will protect us. Just look at his magnificent cowboy hat." Fucking idiot. Rule by fear only works when it's not so obvious that it's what you're doing. If I had a nickel for every time I've heard Dick Cheney say "mushroom cloud" I'd be a rich SOB.
It's kind of funny how the terror alert went up just a few days after the Democratic National Convention. Funnier still is the fact that it happened at the same time the post convention
polling numbers started coming back clearly showing Bush getting beat by a candidate he hasn't even debated yet. It's hard to be president when you have
no credibility ... What's this weeks reason for invading Iraq?
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."
--- Frank Herbert, Dune - Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear
Now watch this
(
go here if that didn't work.)
... and this is probably fake, but who really cares?
